Honestly, I don't think I have never been to Sugar's. But then, I haven't been to half the places I have matchbooks for. And I'm not really sure why or how.

Another variation on Dallas. I think there are still a couple more. Strangely enough, it was never my hangout.

This was a fun night with the Foleys back in Seattle. We purchased a Birthday present for Kristen at Magical Mouse, met for Martinis at Marcus' and then went for Dinner at Etta's.

Hyde Park Bar & Grill

I recall the giant fork out front of the Hyde Park Bar & Grill, but that's about it.

Professor Moriarty's

Here's one for my friends in Saratoga Springs. I've only been to Professor Moriarty's once, and it was anything but elementary.

They also offered a book to remind you that this was 'The Place To Be.' I'm not sure if they meant Tangerine's or Austin in general.

Here's the first of two installments from Tangerine's. I'm sure it's no longer around. Kind of a middle-age candy meat market, but when we lived in the Arboretum it was a great place to get cheap eats and drinks at Happy Hour.

The Captains

The Captains. More raw oysters, blich! Yeah, No! Besides, its not there anymore, either. As I recall Hwy 183 through that stretch is a commercial wasteland now.

Iron Works

Not bad BBQ, that Iron Works. Great location!

Luby's

More mediocre Mall food. But, as kids we loved Luby's, didn't we?!... family meals after church and bundes jello parfait for desert.

Lion's Share

Seems like I remember the Lion's Share being a restaurant in Highland Mall, before there was a Food Court.

Emilio's

My first experience with Tapas. Tasty to be sure, but what a scam. Just bring me a plate of sizzling beef fajitas and a bowl of hot queso and I'm good... and its still a third the price.

Coco's

I honestly cannot recall ever eating at a Coco's. That's not to say there wasn't some odd Friday night we found ourselves planted in a corner booth, but that was typically us at Denny's on I-35.

Bonanza

Lower down on the food chain, but still fond memories of Bonanza Chicken Fried Steak with the family on Sundays.

Dots

In the midst of my sock monkey fetish, I moved to Portland and discovered Dots Cafe. A place decorated with dozens of the little stuffed stinkers. Look closey at the old photos and you can see the first Dot's, mostly destroyed by fire and the immolated remnants of the original sock monkey collection. Very sad.

Frontier Motel

So, let's stick with the motel theme, and recall a unique dive. Yes, there really is a Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. Home of the famous Frontier Motel. Seems like it was Roswell, though. But, that was a long time ago and I might'a been being abducted.
