Matchbooks and boxes are nearly an item of the past. When smoking was common, most every establishment advertised with matches. Today they are rare and growing evermore obsolete, many of the places and events advertised have been long forgotten. Enjoy the daily recollection...

Introduction to the Daily Matchbook...
I'd been collecting matchbooks and boxes since I was 10 years old. Growing up in Austin, Texas, most of my collection originated in Central Texas. As the years went by, it reached somewhat beyond though friends, family and my own travels. Now at 42, I pulled out a dusty old plastic Tote from my garage with the intent to sell the contents in a summer Garage Sale. But, as me and my 6 year old son sifted through the contents of the sizeable old collection, I realized there were stories there, long forgotten, in a medium nearly obsolete. My son and I decide to share each matchbook with you... one day at a time.
